I just read an article about Cos. There was a lot of new things I learned about the brand. One of the things that I was surprised about, was that Cos came about as a business idea from H&M. That means that there were never a specific person that came up with the brand, as it normally would be. Karin Gustafson is the Cos women swear designer and before she even became head of women wear. She produced her own range of clothes in Stockholm and then moved to London to study at the Royal College of art. She joined Cos in 2006 and became the head of women swear design in spring 2011.
They get their inspirations from art and architecture, which I think makes the most beautiful unique clothes. You would think that H&M would have a lot of input when it comes to Cos which they do but in terms of design they are independent. Which makes sense! I would describe their collection as beautiful, they are not as edgy as the other designers, when it comes to individual pieces.
